Meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Central Asia

On 6 February 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin received the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Ms. Natalia Gherman due to the end of her tenure in the mentioned position.

The current situation and prospects of multilateral cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and UNRCCA were discussed at the meeting.

Morever, to enhance partnership between Tajikistan and the specialized agencies of the United Nations, the interlocutors exchanged views on the issues of countering the modern threats and challenges, as well as ensuring sustainable development in the region.

At the end of the conversation, the Minister of Foreign Affairs wished N. Gherman success in connection to her new appointment as the Executive Director of the United Nations Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED).
