On 21 September 2023, on the margins of the “High Level Week” of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin participated and addressed the Annual Meeting of the Group of Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs).

 

 

 

 

In his statement, Minister Muhriddin emphasized the importance of realizing the transit potential of landlocked countries, including the implementation of regional transport and transit corridors in accelerating the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.

 

 

 

 

Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin also touched upon energy, water and climate issues, outlining them as priority areas for Tajikistan, and called upon the LLDCs to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the Water Action Decade “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028” and actively participate in the Third Dushanbe Conference on the implementation of the Water Action Decade which will be held in June 2024.
